About This Experience

MECA Methods is a program for educators to explore the design thinking process so that they’re able to bring their students through similar learning experiences.

Educators will have the opportunity to:

  • experience each step in the design thinking process through a design challenge that allows them to recognize barriers students may face

  • understand design thinking as it applies to the classroom and walk away with a concept to implement in the classroom

  • build a network of support with other Real World Learning educators across the Kansas City Metro

Danielle Dillard, an educator from Hogan Preparatory Academy, combined her geometry lessons with human-centered design by incorporating a tiny house project for the houseless in her curriculum. >

Lori Wetmore, an educator from Hogan Preparatory Academy, used the tools MECA Methods provided her to create tactful and unique ways students can combine medical recommendations with their education. >
